Silence, simplicity and space to reconnect

Our Silent Meditation Retreat in the Blue Mountains is designed to help you pause, reset and reconnect — without pressure, performance or distraction.

Held every week at our peaceful Happy Buddha retreat house, this two-night experience includes guided meditation, mindfulness activities, gentle yoga and nourishing vegetarian meals. You’ll be gently supported by experienced facilitators as you explore inner stillness and map your mental landscape ~ all in a friendly, welcoming space.

Whether you’re seeking clarity, peace, or a digital detox, this retreat offers a rare opportunity to go within. No experience necessary. Just curiosity, openness and a willingness to be with yourself.

Through stillness and silence, you’ll learn simple but profound tools to return to your centre. Not just while you’re here, but long after you leave.

“Absolutely loved this experience. I did the silent retreat (journey into stillness) and found it perfect. Facilitator Peter was amazing, beds so comfy, food was incredible. Coupled with toasty warm fires (winter), a beautiful mountains setting and an informative and well planned meditation program, I highly recommend you do this 2 day retreat. I came away so restored and with lots of tools and techniques to continue the journey at home.!”

How the silent meditation retreat works

This Silent Meditation Retreat is offered every weekend. It includes workshops, vegetarian meals and simple, twin-share accommodation with shared bathrooms in our Happy Buddha communal house.

This is a silent retreat which means we encourage you to experience introspection. Of course, if you need to speak to your facilitator or chef please do. Note: with any new challenge or experience there can be triggering moments so please take steps to always be kind to yourself.

We also encourage you to book this retreat as an individual, rather than with a friend or partner.

For you to get the most from this experience, this retreat is strictly technology-free. For your peace of mind, when you check in you will be provied a contact number should your loved ones need to get in contact with you. Your phone and devices are to be handed in for safe keeping at the beginning of the retreat.

Please note, we have a very friendly communal house cat so please note if you have allergies. Massages are available however there are limited 1-hour sessions ~ please enquire on your arrival.

“I’ve done a few retreats now and have recently participated in the weekend silent retreat at Happy Buddha. I found it exactly as advertised. Facilitator was fantastic, skilled and knowledgeable. It was a well-balanced program, catering for the experience and needs of individuals. An excellent way to recharge and refresh. The staff were great, beautiful venue and setting and awesome food. I definitely recommend.”
